Re: My RT40 1966
because there wasnt much paperwork with this car & been off the road since 1984, I wonder if the mileage is possibly this low? Or maybe after 18 years over 100k?
She is solid and until I get her on the ramp over weekend i'll get a good look underneath & hoping to fire her up :-)

Re: My RT40 1966
Right the mission was on today, my day off from work today, headed to my mates garage & plan was to attempt to start the RT40 after 28 years (last ran in 1984) ... I was worried the engine may have seized so before any plans of restoration I wanted to see if the engine was in fact still alive...
Got there at 1100 this morning, pushed the car into the garage (brakes free & rolled smoothly) , then onto the ramp, first was to look underneath and see what the damage was of so many years off the road and see the J rot...
It was not bad at all, in fact quite immpressive :-)
The exhaust mind you though had disintegrated lol... Luckily I have a full brand new genuine system here at home..
Put a battery on & booster..........
Next a full service...... new plugs, filter, coil, condensor, rotor arm,
Out came the oil, black or what !!!!! WD40'd the old bolts and opened the carb and a quick clean, poured in the fresh petrol..

The TE71 was known here in the UK as the SR Coupe :-)
They are all sold now, just the RT40, RT104 & KE70 at the moment, oh and a RX30 Cressida but sort of sold :-)
