Hello from Portland Empty Hello from Portland

Post by Cthree Wed Dec 31, 2014 9:50 pm

My name is Chris and I live in Portland, OR. I have 2 red coupes, 1970 RT72 and a 1972 RT73. I'm working on getting the 70 back on the road after sitting for 10+ years. It was my first car back in 98. I have some big plans for the 72. It's currently just a shell, but I plan to swap in a 3SGE Beams, J160 trans and AE86 rear axle. I'm building it to go drifting at the local go cart track.

Well I've been busy on my '70. I have it registered and insured now. Drove it to work today. It needs alot of suspension work as it is very loose in the front. I've also been collecting parts for the '72. I bought my motor, tranny and race seat. I'm working on rebuilding my rear LSD axle. Hope to bring the 72 to my house soon so I can start the motor swap. Currently at my uncles with a bad rear axle.

I've got my motor sitting in the car. I had to cut the cross member quite a bit to clear the oil pan. Also the trans tunnel is cut open for the larger transmission. Working on fuel, cooling, intake, exhaust, driveline, throttle. The toughest one will be the steering. I'm changing the steering box to a rack and pinion.
