Anyone looking for front springs I have part numbers

Post by coheed on Tue Mar 29, 2016 8:49 am

So I've been looking for replacement springs for the front of my 78, as I want to lower it but I'd rather not cut the OE springs. Through some googling and forum diving I have found a few springs that will work, and lower the car without cutting (in theory).

These in theory should be around stock replacement height, but as I haven't put them on my car I don't know what the ride height would be. They are stock replacements for a Ford Courier/Mazda B-series truck.
Moog PN# CC250, Free height: 13.44", I.D. 3.30", Spring rate: 417, Load:786

These should lower the car 1.5-2.5". I've seen a few forum posts saying that 73-78 Hilux stock springs lower the Corona about that much.
Moog PN# 8576, Free height: 12.63", I.D. 3.51", Spring rate: 386, Load:1200

These in theory lower the car 4". These are a stock replacement for a Mighty Max/Dodge D50, and lower the Hiluxs about 2".
Moog PN# 2278, Free height: 11", I.D. 3.42", Spring rate: 435, Load:868

And Belltech makes a lowering spring for the Mighty Max/D50 that gives the Hilux a 4" drop, so in theory would drop the Corona 6". I can't find any specs for these aside from they have a 550lbs/ft spring rate.
Belltech PN# 4270

Now the actual amount of lowering achieved is going to be off from my estimates, at least by a little. But, as of now, all of these are available off the shelf, which can't be said for a lot of parts for these cars. Hopefully this information helps someone.
