Re: Fredricks 1971 Corona MarkII
JZ's are probably easier to find in a Lexus. Just walk through a Lexus dealer shop...
150-175 is fairly easy with a 22R, especially starting with a late motor. A good port and polish, oversize valves with slight milling and a decent cam, plus a Weber or EFI, intake and exhaust, and you're right there.
I'm shooting for very close to a 200 HP daily driver with a late 22R/20R headed hybrid, with 10.5:1 compression, then maybe add a 75 HP shot of nitrous...

Agree! If you go to update a thread, the text and background is the same color. The only way to see it is to highlight it, and then take a stab in the dark when you go to make a change, Is there a way to change the colors?

You can see my 71 Celica M/C and the new booster i had to get. looks pretty good under the hood now.
I put carpet in and put the raggy old seats back in, still got some wires hanging around itll be fixed up later.

And how she sits still looks the same minus the front bumper.

Since the above pics that were took in Jan 2014 a lot of mechanical progress has happed but it still looks ecactly the same minus the rims

It sat around for about a year without being looked at then i decided to get on it again and I pulled the engine to fix all the leaks and a few other tasks the timing tensioners dident look very good so i replaced the whole chain assembly and every gasket but the head.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
During that time I also replaced all 4 shocks the sway bar bushing cleaned a bunch of stuff new front brake lines and pads and new rear wheel cylinders dident get any pics of that I also put a electric Oil psi gauge in it and a fuel pump relay and harness put New bolts in the converter the pressure plate bolts for 22r fit I used ARP.

That Header was a pain in the ass it came from down under off Ebay but being for a RHD car it dident fit hit the steering box. I had it modifed to fit and it still has Issues Hits in a full lock left turn on the pitman arm and will be a nightmare to get a tailpipe attached to

Re: Fredricks 1971 Corona MarkII
I went threw so issues with brake master cylinders though one was bad bought another turned out I forgot I adjusted the booster when I used the M/C for a 71 Celica. I also had a buddy make me a plate to cover the fuel tank hole in the trunk. He also gonna cut the bad part out of my dash and replace it with the piece from the parts car.

Re: Fredricks 1971 Corona MarkII
That parts car is the best thing that has happend with this project. All 4 doors on the 71 are junk in one way or another only one one the parts car has any problems but its still far better than the 71. The dash is a awesome plus. I can tell the parts car has far fewer miles it was only 9 years onld when parked it has no play in the steering so the box and colum will get transfered over. plus the tons of little things it can provide. The parts car saddens me if it wasent left under a pine tree for 37 years it would be pretty nice the seats in the rear arnt ripped but the frames are rusty front just popped apart from being wet. But its going to good use it will prolly just be a rusty body laying in the dirt Im gonna let it revert to the earth instead of scrapping it Below are the pics of the rust bucket

Re: Fredricks 1971 Corona MarkII
Its really rusty has holes in the roof, cowl, the floor board there isint anything left of the trunk both bumpers are smashed the pasanger front fender is good so i have a spare. Also has back glass without the defroster which im gonna switch over front glass had something go threw it at some point glad i wasent in the passanger seat You can see it was repaired after so it was still driving when it happend. Hood is bent prolly from the people opening it after 25 years when they sold it to me Its weird i got it from the same people as the 69 RT52 I have and they lived prolly 500 feet from the people I Bought the 71 from.
