I'm back, but this sucks!
My laptop died almost two weeks ago. I took it back to the guy I bought it from, and he performed an autopsy, finding out that the fan had died, so the hard drive crashed an overheating death. I lost a shitload of info - pics and Toyota info that I'd been collecting and writing for over a year. Then to top it off, my iPhone died last week and had to be reset. I was able to re-acquire all of my contacts from "the cloud", but all of my notes and pics were lost. The only copy of all of them was... on my computer!
Fortunately, it only cost $150 for a new 320g hard drive, installed, and reloaded with Windows 7, MS Office Suite...
On top of all that, the wagon's engine is knocking so is coming out, and unfortunately, about the only complete engine I have to throw in is a stock 20R. It does give me an excuse to get the A43D trans finished with the shift kit and high stall converter though... Now to get the 3.90 geared Mk I LSD swapped in!

Apparent change of plans on the motor. I was having serious issues with the thought of swapping in a stock 90 HP 20R when the 22R hybrid that was in there was putting out a good 140 HP or so. Thinking about it today, I do have an '85 Celica GT-S parts car that I had originally scored to get the engine and harness out of to put in my stripped '85 GT-S convertible, but since then decided to put a SBC into the 'vert instead, so I'm going to put the 22RE, harness and ECU, and fuel lines... into the wagon. Now we're talking 114 HP anyway, and the advantages of EFI. That, coupled with the stall converter and modified A43D auto should be closer to what I had anyway. I have like 5 late 22RE heads laying around here, so can start porting and polishing one to swap on while I'm saving up for and building the "next motor" - dual side drafts on a 20R head modified to bolt onto the "better" late 22R block, and also be working on building MegaSquirt to eventually go with some side drafts converted into ITBs.
